Path

NOTES

  • Ensure that the folder name does not contain spaces.

  • If you do not enter a path to a directory, the files are saved in the root directory of the FTP or SFTP server.

  • For security purposes Windows 7 does not allow users or applications to store data in system folders, including C:\Windows, C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files (x86), or their subfolders.

If you are unable to locate files downloaded to the FTP or SFTP server, this could be the reason. Windows automatically (and transparently) translates attempts to write to these protected folders to the VirtualStore folders:

C:\Users\"Name"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\...

C:\Users\"Name"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\...

To resolve this issue, do any of the following:

  • Click the Compatibility Files button that appears on the Explorer bar to view virtualized files in the protected folder. The Compatibility Files button appears only if there are virtualized files in the folder.

  • Look in the C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore folder to locate files and folders.

  • Configure the FTP or SFTP servers to save the data in a non-write protected location such as under your user profile.
